To raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, Jola hosted a very successful coffee morning with a twist. Hybrid working has been part of the Jola culture since the company was established and they wanted to run an inclusive coffee morning which included both office and remote workers. The Jola team baked at home with their families, cakes were brought into the office for a cake sale and those working from home joined in by offering their cakes to friends and neighbours.
Adele Anderson, Marketing Manager, at Jola, working remotely for over two years said, ‘It was fantastic to feel part of the Macmillan Coffee Morning even though I work from home. My boys loved baking and were thrilled to not only eat their bakes but raise money for an amazing charity.’
Cherie Howlett CMO commented, ‘At Jola, we have implemented a flexible working policy. Some teams choose to be in the office every day, others three days a week and some prefer to work remotely. We are aware of some of the benefits and challenges and hope we have found the right balance. The coffee morning was a great way to bring everyone together for a good cause.’
